Information

The Altorfer chair models, with or without armrests, are the perfect complement to the sun lounger. They all share the same tried-and-tested construction – hot-dip galvanised round steel tubing, hand-woven with colourful PVC cords.

Huldreich Altorfer

1911–1980

Huldreich Altorfer Junior joined Embru in 1934 as a commercial clerk. At that time, his father was the company’s director. A few years after his father’s death, Huldreich Altorfer Junior was promoted to deputy director in 1942. At the end of 1944, he left Embru and founded his own metal furniture factory, Altorfer AG, in Wald and Oberdürnten. In 1971, Embru reacquired this company and, with it, the rights to the Altorfer products.
