The Fortuna School and Sports Complex in Chur was completed in three years’ construction time, based on plans by the architectural practice of Andy Senn, Architect BSA SIA. With this central new building, Chur now has a modern educational environment comprising a total of 83 classrooms, specialist and group rooms, as well as a nursery with 72 places. Since the start of the 2025 school year, the school has been attended by around 500 pupils. A large proportion of the premises has been furnished with Embru’s versatile furniture range. Adaptable school desks with insertable felt privacy screens are used, enabling flexible ways of working. Height-adjustable teachers’ desks promote ergonomic working, whilst interactive whiteboards and centrally controlled, wireless presentation technology ensure well-organised lessons. The chair suspension system integrated into the desks ensures greater comfort and improved efficiency: chairs no longer need to be placed on the desks, and cleaning the floor is a matter of moments.
