The Olten Cantonal School, built between 1969 and 1973 by architects Marc Funk and Hans-Ulrich Fuhrimann, is now regarded by architectural experts as an important testament to its era and has recently undergone a complete refurbishment. This historically significant building required specialised furnishings, which Embru – itself a testament to its era – was able to provide through numerous bespoke pieces. Around 1,000 pupils attend the Olten Cantonal School. In addition, there are around 170 members of the teaching staff and administrative staff. The comprehensive refurbishment is taking place whilst the school remains open and will run from June 2016 to September 2022.
