Atelier Stool 2100

Christophe Marchand, born in Fribourg in 1965, trained as a cabinetmaker and studied industrial design at the Zurich School of Design. He has been teaching at Écal, the École cantonale d’art de Lausanne, since 1990. In 1993, he opened his own studio, where he develops furniture and products for companies such as Intertime, Zanotta, Alias and Thonet.

He works as a consultant for Embru in various areas. Among other things, he designed the Marchand armchair, as well as the Atelier chair, which was conceived as a school chair but soon found its way into offices and studios.
