Data Protection at Embru / Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG)
Privacy Policy
Embru-Werke AG has a business relationship with you. On the one hand, we hereby inform you about the manner in which your data is processed in connection with a business relationship between you and Embru-Werke AG. On the other hand, we also set out our expectations regarding the handling of your personal data. The security of your data is important to us. For this reason, we comply with the applicable Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) when processing personal data. In certain situations, such as job applications, additional specific data protection notices may apply. Please refer to the privacy policy for job applications. Please also take note of the further information regarding the use of our websites and social media channels, as well as the information on cookies.
Your personal data
Personal data is information that we need to identify you. We process and store this information when you correspond with us electronically or by post and we thereby come into possession of information about you. We also receive this information when you give us your business card, register for our events, request a quote for products or services from us, or place an order with us. If you provide us with data relating to other individuals (contact persons within your organisation), we assume that you are authorised to do so and that the data is accurate. The personal data we process generally includes name, postal address, email address, telephone numbers, employer and, in some cases, your professional role. We may also receive and store this data from your employees or your representatives. Your data will not be supplemented with any further information.
Purpose of data collection and use
We use this information to maintain or establish our business relationship with you and to provide you with information and publications. It goes without saying that Embru-Werke AG will not sell your personal data or otherwise disclose it to third parties, unless we are obliged to do so by law. Furthermore, in connection with, for example, maintenance contracts, installation work, haulage companies and IT projects, we cannot rule out the possibility that certain service providers may have access to your personal data.
Data protection
Embru-Werke AG takes the necessary organisational measures to protect your personal data from loss and unauthorised access. We carry out regular checks to verify the effectiveness of our data protection measures.
Use of cookies
In addition to the data mentioned above, when you use our website, we employ technical tools for various functions, in particular cookies, which may be stored on your device. Cookies are text files or pieces of information that are stored on your hard drive and associated with the browser you are using, so that certain information can be sent to the site that sets the cookie. Cookies cannot run programmes or transfer viruses to your computer; their primary purpose is to make the website faster and more user-friendly. On our Consent Management Platform (CMP), we enable users to manage their consents transparently. In accordance with current data protection regulations, you will find a detailed list of all the trackers we use here.
Web analytics tools
We require statistical information about the use of our online service in order to make it more user-friendly and to conduct market research. To this end, we use web analytics tools such as Google Analytics. The usage profiles created by these tools using analytics cookies or by analysing log files are not linked to personal data. The tools either do not use users’ IP addresses at all or truncate them immediately after collection.
Social media plugins
We also have a presence on third-party platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. You can recognise such social plugins by the logo of the respective third-party social network provider. We have no influence over the data protection settings of these third-party platforms.
The operators of the third-party platforms (for example, in the case of Facebook: Meta) process your data for their own purposes. In doing so, the third-party platforms also set cookies that enable them to track usage behaviour on other websites and apps within the group. This applies in particular if you are already registered on these third-party platforms. You can find more details on this in the respective privacy policies of the operators. We only receive an anonymised analysis of usage data from these platform operators. We do not receive a personally identifiable user profile of you. We use the anonymous usage statistics to better tailor our services to the needs and interests of our audience.
For these purposes, Meta/Facebook, for example, provides us with the following data (anonymised and aggregated into groups): age, gender, place of residence (country and region or city). Across all usage, the following data, for example, is recorded anonymously: Time of use, interactions in the context of posts (e.g. reactions, comments, click-through rate, views, shares), video viewing duration, devices used, operating systems, software, location of use, usage history (referring websites), language, interests/topics.
We are not aware of the data that the respective third-party platform collects in total, nor the purposes for which it processes this data. If necessary, please contact the respective platform operator in this regard.To analyse anonymised data and public interactions (comments, likes, etc.), we use services provided by third-party platforms or service providers for comment management and analysis.
The anonymised statistical data is, for example, updated daily by Facebook and made available for an analysis period including the previous day. In order to track trends, parts of the data provided by Facebook are archived. However, this consists exclusively of anonymised statistical data from which no conclusions can be drawn about you. We archive comments and public interactions, such as ‘likes’ and ‘shares’, for journalistic purposes.
Please note that the operators of these platforms are mostly American companies and their data may therefore also be processed outside Switzerland and the European Union. This may give rise to risks, as it can, for example, make it more difficult to enforce data subjects’ rights. Further details are set out in the privacy policies of the individual providers.
If you wish to prevent third-party providers from linking the data collected via our website to your personal profile (if you have one) on the relevant social network, you must log out of that social network before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the plugins from loading by using specialised add-ons for your browser.
Our personal data
When you contact us or submit information, we will also collect personal data from you. In accordance with Article 19 of the Data Protection Act (DSG), we are obliged to inform the data subjects concerned about the disclosure of their data. Processing must be carried out in good faith and be proportionate. We do not disclose personal data requiring special protection or use it for profiling. Should your requests for personal data be more extensive, you must submit a separate request and also specify the data controllers, the purpose of use and the duration of storage.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that, in accordance with Articles 25–27 of the Data Protection Act, data subjects have a right to access information regarding the processing of their data. A breach of the Data Protection Act will result in sanctions such as fines.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be amended by Embru-Werke AG at any time to reflect current legal or factual circumstances. The amendments take effect upon publication of this privacy policy on our website.
